Our Approach |
ProMet Physical Therapy, PC offers a fresh, new look as compared to the ordinary, “run-of-the-mill” Physical Therapy clinics throughout the area. We know that every individual is different and therefore no two injuries are the same. Here at ProMet, we don’t treat painful or injured joints. We treat people. With our individualist approach to the patient, our Doctors of Physical Therapy create a treatment plan designed specifically to meet the distinct needs of that patient. By being attentive to the specific needs and goals of the individual, our approach helps us get to the source of the patient’s injury or pain and eliminate the symptoms. Our Physical Therapists educate patients and help them better understand what caused the condition and what to do to prevent it from reoccurring. With new state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment, a personal atmosphere and an individualist approach to care, ProMet PT’s quality is unmatched with the competition. We believe that no other healthcare professionals have a better understanding of how the human body moves. We are the premier movement specialists and we will help get you back to healthy moving. |

What to Expect |
On your first visit to ProMet, you will meet your Doctor of Physical Therapy who will get to know you, your medical history and all about your injury or condition. Based on information about your past and current status, your physical therapist will conduct an initial examination consisting of movement tests and measures in order to assess for things like muscle imbalances, limits in range of motion and deficits in muscle strength as well as your overall quality of movement. Based on the findings of the exam and in conjunction with your history, your PT will then design a plan of care specifically designed to meet your needs. Typically, PTs utilize therapeutic, functional and progressive exercise, manual techniques like soft tissue massage and joint mobilizations as well as therapeutic modalities to help you get on the road to healthier, pain-free movement. Our PTs are constantly re-examining and reassessing the effectiveness of your treatment on a daily basis so that we can work with you and help you to progress towards your functional goals. Whether you are trying to return to your sport, or just trying to walk again without pain, ProMet will be there with you every step of the way. |
DIRECT ACCESS TO PHYSICAL THERAPY |
By law, physical therapists licensed in the state of New York who have at least 3 years of clinical experience may treat patients without a prescription from a physician for 10 visits or for a period of 30 calendar days—whichever occurs first. If continued therapy is considered medically necessary, one of our DPTs may refer you to one of the physicians in our network. We strive for continuum of care so that there are no interruptions in your recovery, making your rehabilitation efficient and effective. |
